Description
Redesign Process Simulate User Interface Background: Process Simulate is a software solution developed by Siemens Digital Industries Software. It is primarily used for virtual commissioning and simulation of manufacturing processes in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer goods. Process Simulate allows engineers and manufacturers to create a digital twin of their production systems, enabling them to visualize and analyze the entire manufacturing process before physical implementation. It offers a comprehensive set of tools for designing, optimizing, and validating production systems, including the layout of the manufacturing floor, the arrangement of machines and equipment, and the sequencing of operations. The ongoing renovation of the Process Simulate graphical user interface (GUI) focuses on aligning with current user experience (UX) trends. This includes incorporating personalization features, implementing a Dark Theme mode for improved visibility in low- light environments, emphasizing clean and streamlined interfaces, and integrating branding elements to maintain visual consistency with the Siemens identity. These enhancements aim to enhance the user experience, ensuring intuitive interactions, reducing eye strain, optimizing workflow efficiency, and establishing a recognizable and cohesive visual identity. Goals In the GUI redesign project, a particular emphasis will be placed on icon design. The aim is to create visually appealing and easily recognizable icons that effectively convey their respective functions. These icons will adhere to a consistent style and design language to ensure a cohesive visual experience. Attention will be given to clarity, simplicity, and intuitiveness, allowing users to quickly understand and interact with different features and actions within the interface. By prioritizing icon design, the GUI redesign aims to enhance usability and streamline user interactions. Additionally, we will focus on maintaining a consistent language throughout the application. This entails using standardized terminology, labels, and messaging across various screens and interactions. By establishing a coherent language, users will experience a more intuitive and seamless navigation within the interface. Furthermore, the redesign will pay careful attention to adhering to Siemens branding guidelines. This involves incorporating Siemens'- visual elements, color schemes, and logo placement in a manner that reflects the established brand identity. By aligning with Siemens branding, the GUI redesign will reinforce the overall image and reputation of Siemens while creating a sense of familiarity and trust for users interacting with the application. Number of participants: 2-3 groups of 4-7 students each. A project designed for students of computer science / applied mathematics. =========================================================== For any questions about the project, I will be available by phone: 050-5714100 Regards, Mark Israel markisr@walla.co.il, marki@hit.ac.il
