Automatic Plant Watering – Hardware Team An automatic plant watering system uses sensors and timers to monitor soil moisture levels and deliver water to plants when needed. This technology helps ensure plants receive consistent hydration, reduces water waste, and can be controlled remotely, making it ideal for home gardens or large agricultural operations. Project for Electrical Engineering students. Background: We are building a system that will detect when plants need water based on soil moisture, time, period and other factors. We will need to have sensors installed, a server that tracks the data from the sensors, a web client that shows this data and sets thresholds for watering plants. Total Data Flow: Sensor - Gateway - Transmitting Server & Data Parsing - Main Server - Client Technologies You will use: LORAWAN technologies and sensors. Node.js / Python server Your Goals: - Write the project documentation and plan including finding which sensors to buy. - Installing sensors. - Parsing sensor data into JSON objects. - Send data to a server created by another team. Other Teams Will handle the rest.
