Description
Shelter Locking - Hardware Team Shelter locking is a security mechanism used in emergency shelters to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the safety of occupants. This system often includes reinforced doors, electronic locking mechanisms, and remote access control to provide protection in various emergency situations. Project for Electrical Engineering students. Background: We are building an IOT system that will automatically lock and unlock the public shelters of the city remotely. The system will be controlled and monitored by a web application. The system will show a map of an area, some shelter doors will be present on the map and they will be marked closed or open, locked or unlocked. If a door is closed, we can lock or unlock it remotely. We will build the mechanism that locks the door with a small model. This solution will not require a replacement of the door. It will be possible to open and close doors within selected polygons of areas. This shelter solution will be later expanded to track energy usage, air quality, communication systems and more. Technologies You will use: LORAWAN technologies and sensors. Node.js / Python server Your Goals: • Write the project documentation and plan including finding which sensors to buy. • Installing sensors. • Parsing sensor data into JSON objects. • Send data to a server created by another team. • Build a basic robot that gets data from a server.
