Description
Agent Profiling and Role Fit Analysis Using Voice and Speech-Based Behavioral AI General Description: In this project, students will build a system that helps understand how well a customer service agent’s communication style matches the role they’re working in—like Sales or Support. The system will listen to real conversations and analyze how agents speak (their voice tone, speed, energy) and what they say (their language, confidence, clarity). From this, it will create a behavioral profile and compare it to what’s expected in that role. If the agent’s style doesn’t match their role—for example, a salesperson sounding too passive—the system will highlight this and suggest improvements. Over time, this kind of analysis can help managers support their teams better and help agents grow in the right direction. The goal is to help guide agents by spotting when their communication style doesn’t quite match what’s expected for their role—and then offering clear, personalized tips to help them improve and grow. Project Scope: Students will build a working prototype that processes real recordings from customer service calls. The system will analyze both voice signals (like tone, energy, and rhythm) and speech content (such as how persuasive, clear, or confident the language is). Using this data, the system will: ● Create a behavioral profile for each agent based on how they sound and what they say ● Identify key attributes of the agent—such as communication style, emotional tone, confidence, clarity, and typical interaction patterns ● Compare this profile against a behavioral model tailored to their specific role (e.g., sales, support) ● Generate a role-fit score that reflects how well the agent’s style fits the role ● Detect deviations or mismatches that may point to communication gaps or behavioral issues ● Offer practical, personalized suggestions for improvement—for example, “slow down when explaining technical topics” or “use more affirming language when closing a sale” The final result will be a prototype that can be used as a starting point for continuous agent coaching and real-time behavioral insights in live customer service settings. Student Requirements: ● Interest in behavioral AI and voice/speech technologies ● Desire to learn from industry mentors and gain experience working on real-world tech ● Active participation in weekly check-ins ● Enthusiasm for building tech that supports human development ● Ability to conduct independent research ● Personal responsibility for assigned tasks and deadlines ● Good teamwork and collaboration skills ● Interest in psychology is a plus Development Tools Python, Jupiter Notebook, Tensorflow, Git Librosa, OpenSMILE (for audio analysis) NLTK or spaCy (for speech content analysis) Deliverables: - GitHub repository with working code - Technical documentation - Functional module for voice & speech-based profiling - Role-fit scoring algorithm - Sample report with real insights and suggestions - Final presentation or demo - Brief report on methodology, key findings, and recommendations for future improvements Project Coordinators: Veronika Shpareva veronika@voxspec.com Josh (Yegor) Zaslavskiy yz@voxonics.com Additional Notes • Each project team may include up to 4 students. • Please include your contact details at the end of the document for student inquiries: - Full name - Email address One Pager – Project Summary: One-page overview with problem, solution, team members, and mentor.
