Description
ShebaHub Plus - UI Team Project Proposal Project Title ShebaHub Plus – A Smart System for Guiding Medical Thesis Writing – UI Team General Description ShebaHub Plus is a web-based system designed to guide medical students through the process of preparing their research proposal and thesis. The system provides a structured, interactive, and safe working environment that supports students and mentors throughout the research process, from formulating the research question and study design to writing and submitting the final thesis. The system is being developed as a modular extension of the existing ShebaHub platform, which connects researchers and physicians at Sheba Medical Center with students and interns and supports collaboration around research projects. The UI team will develop the system's user interface as a responsive React web application, providing a guided writing environment, real-time feedback and evaluation, version comparison, and dashboards for students and mentors. Project Scope The project focuses on designing and implementing the user interface of ShebaHub Plus as a direct continuation of the existing ShebaHub platform. Students will develop a fully responsive and mobile-optimized web application that provides an intuitive environment for medical students to prepare their research proposals and theses. The project will include: • A guided writing environment organized according to the faculty guidelines. • A rich-text editor for writing thesis and research proposal chapters. • Presentation of feedback and evaluation results. • Maturity levels for different parts of the research work. • Version comparison and management. • Support for comments and interaction between students and mentors. • Presentation of study design options and related information. • Integration with the backend API. • Full support for Hebrew (RTL) and English. • Responsive and mobile-optimized design. • Dashboards for students and mentors. Optional extensions may include a mentor dashboard, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) over the guidelines knowledge base, advanced sample size calculator interfaces, and adaptation of the system to additional academic institutions. Student Requirements • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Full participation in weekly meetings. • High motivation and commitment. • Independent learning and problem-solving skills. • Personal responsibility and ownership of tasks. • Basic to intermediate knowledge of frontend development. • Ability to work with React and modern web development technologies. • Attention to user experience and responsive interface design. Development Tools • React with Vite • JavaScript / TypeScript • Tailwind CSS / Material UI (MUI) • React Router DOM • TipTap / ProseMirror • Recharts • Hebrew (RTL) and English support • Figma / Canva • GitHub • VS Code / WebStorm • Node.js + npm • Vercel Deliverables • Requirements specification and system architecture. • Working UI prototype integrated into the ShebaHub platform. • Fully responsive and mobile-optimized web application. • Rich-text editor for research proposal and thesis chapters. • Feedback, evaluation, and maturity-level interfaces. • Version comparison functionality. • Student and mentor dashboards. • Hebrew (RTL) and English support. • Test suite and technical documentation. • GitHub repository containing the project source code. • Final presentation. • Demonstration video. Additional Notes This is an annual project conducted in collaboration with Sheba Medical Center. The project is a direct continuation of the existing ShebaHub platform and its React and Vite architecture. The system does not replace the mentor, thesis committee, or statistical consultant. Any content generated using artificial intelligence will be clearly marked, and the system will not fabricate sources. Scientific responsibility and final approval remain with the student and mentor. The academic and clinical advisors from Sheba Medical Center will contribute expertise in thesis requirements, research supervision, epidemiology, statistics, evaluation criteria, and testing scenarios.
